dc.description.abstract1 | Current document covers the main aspects of the innovative ship power systems design and production for the Damen Road Ferries engineered and built during the last years on Damen Shipyards Galati, Romania with the contribution of MDEM company. Innovative technologies introduction caused by the ecological rules implementation as well as maneuverability and weight economy have created new standards of ship electrical propulsion and power distribution. Main types of applied ship power system are properly described indicating their benefits and pitfalls occurred during design and building phases. | |
