dc.description.abstract1The article analyses the situation of Soviet historical science in the second half of the 1950s - the first half of the 1960s. The shifts in political dynamics and their ramifications on the endeavors of Soviet historians are delineated. The article expounds upon the distinctive features of the partial democratization observed in socio -political and scientific spheres, elucidating the incremental reduction of this democratization towards the conclusion of the examined period.
