dc.description.abstractАудіювання – це складний активний процес мовленнєво-розумової діяльності, що вимагає детального вивчення як із погляду функціонування механізмів сприйняття, так і розвитку аудитивних умінь і навичок. Набуття навичок аудіювання є одним із найважливіших складників мовленнєвої діяльності. Сприйняття мови на слух становить основу спілкування, із цього починається оволодіння усною комунікацією. Стаття має на меті підкреслити роль аудіювання у викладанні англійської мови для спеціальних цілей студентам технічних спеціальностей. Проаналізовано методи різних викладачів англійської для спеціальних цілей та досвід науковців, визначено труднощі сприймання інформації на слух та окреслено основні шляхи їх подолання. Проаналізовано наукові джерела із цього питання і зроблено висновок про високий рівень зацікавленості викладачів у впровадженні сучасних методів навчання аудіювання. Виявлено недостатню висвітленість цієї проблеми серед широких мас, незважаючи на високий рівень актуальності цього питання. Розглянуто відмінні характеристики розмовної мови порівняно з письмовою та чинників, що впливають на процес аудіювання; переваги та особливості різних видів діяльності, спрямованих на розвиток навичок аудіювання під час вивчення англійської для спеціальних цілей студентами технічних спеціальностей. Визначено аспекти аудіювання та виявлення труднощів під час етапу прослуховування тексту та після текстового етапу. Висвітлено основні критерії відбору звукового матеріалу в процесі аудіювання, зазначено основні характеристики, які необхідно враховувати під час розроблення завдань для навчання аудіювання студентів технічних спеціальностей. Автор підкреслює, що автентичні тексти доцільно використовувати на всіх етапах навчання аудіювання, ураховуючи рівень володіння мовою студентів і тривалість звучання тексту. Наведено конкретні приклади практичних стратегій та видів діяльності, важливих для технічної аудиторії. Зроблено узагальнюючи висновки щодо вивчення цього питання та наведено перспективи подальшого дослідження методів навчання аудіювання у вищих навчальних закладах. Надано бібліографічний список.
dc.description.abstract1Listening is a complex process of speech development and mental activity that requires detailed study both from the point of view of the functioning of perception mechanisms and the development of auditory abilities and skills. Listening skills acquisition is one of the most important constituents of speech development, it is the basis of communication. The article aims to highlight the role of listening in teaching English for specific purposes(ESP) to engineering students. The study of different ESP tutors and the researchers experience are analyzed, understanding of the obstacles that affect listening comprehension are determined and the main ways to overcome them are outlined. Scientific sources on this issue are analyzed and a conclusion is made about the high level of teachers’ interest in the introduction of modern methods of teaching listening. Insufficient coverage of this problem is revealed despite the high level of urgency of this issue. There have been defined distinctive characteristics of spoken language compared to written language and factors influencing the listening process. Advantages and features of various types of activities aimed at developing listening skills when learning English for specific purposes by engineering students are considered. Aspects of listening and identifying the students’ difficulties in a variety of while- and post-listening activities for engineering students are determined. Specific examples of practical techniques and activities important in Engineering Course are given. The main criteria for the selection of listening texts are highlighted, the characteristics that must be taken into account when developing tasks for teaching listening to engineering students are indicated. It needs to be pointed out that it is necessary to use authentic texts at all stages of listening comprehension, taking into account the level of students’ language proficiency and the length of the text. Generalized conclusions concerning studying of this question are made and prospects of the further research of listening teaching methods in higher educational institutions are resulted. A bibliographic list is provided.
